Thursday Thirteen #5 – Why I love being a Dad

1) You can always get a sticker to brighten your day

2) Playing soccer with Diva-J simply is the best and when she refers to me as coach, I just want to hug her.

3) You get to see your kids grown into the wonderful people that they become with each day and minute.

4) You get to see again through a child’s eyes – seeing the wonder of each moment

5) You get the opportunity to experience all of the firsts again (not that I remember my own)

6) Beyond being a parent only, you get to be a mentor, teacher, and hopefully at some point a friend and confidant

7)Hearing your child say “I love you Dad” or “I miss you”

8) Receiving and giving affection – big hugs and kisses everyday!

9) Helping to mold a person into a a thriving and contributing member of society (related to #3)

10) Finding those special moments – Doing things just with the kids…

11) Being creative and spontaneous – Making masterpieces together!

12) Living vicariously, for example – Dancing till you can dance no more…

13) Hearing the words “Daddy will you play with me?”

We went to Grand Rapids, Michigan for a great visit last weekend and were able to go to the Frederick Meijer Gardens. A wonderful place that I have ben to in the past, but I got some great floral amd other pictures I thought I would share!

Thursday Thirteen #3 – Why My House is A Diva-Dome

13 things that come to mind about why my house is truly fir for divas!

1) I have 2 girls who are either true Divas or Divas in training

2) Dresses….dressing up, etc

3) BLING! (Necklaces, rings, galore)

4) Can someone say play vanity (No makeup allowed on these girls at least not yet thankfully)

5) Princesses, Princesses, and more Princesses (We should own stock in Disney) – check out a great post over at Building Camelot on this!

6) I can imagine what life is going to be like when the girls are teenagers (you know a while back I got something regarding an application to date my daughter…I’m saving it for later in life!)

7) Dancing, Dancing, and more Dancing

8) Immediate gratification… “I want…” or from Diva-PJ – WAAAAA (I want _____ now!)

9) Demanding attention at all times!

10) Money for nothing! (Can you buy me that???)

11) Fake Cell Phones (actually inoperable cell phones that J-Mom and I had)

12) Enough decorations/stuffed animals to rivals most.

13 Stuborn, stuborn, stuborn
